North Georgia Mountains
Things to Do
Apple Mountain sits in the middle of some of the best country in Georgia. Make a weekend of it. Here is what is worth your time within a short drive of the first tee.
We are in Clarkesville, in Habersham County, an easy reach of Helen, the lakes, the gorge, and the wine country. Play a morning round, then go find a waterfall or a German lager. A lot of our golfers turn one tee time into a two-day trip, and the area makes it easy.
Helen
About 30 minutes
A Bavarian-styled town on the Chattahoochee. River tubing in summer, Oktoberfest in fall, German food and beer year round. The most popular base for a North Georgia weekend.
Golf Near Helen →Lake Burton & Lake Rabun
About 30 to 45 minutes
Two of the prettiest lakes in the state. Rent a place on the water, run the boat, and play golf in the morning before the wind picks up. Classic North Georgia summer.
Golf Near Lake Burton →Tallulah Gorge
About 30 minutes
One of the deepest gorges in the eastern United States. Rim trails, a suspension bridge, and serious overlooks. A free permit gets you down to the floor on clear days.

More Area Guides →Clarkesville & the Soque
Right here
Our town square has good food and a small-town feel. The Soque River is some of the best private trout water in the country. Clarkesville is the quiet end of a North Georgia trip.
More Area Guides →Dahlonega Wine Country
About an hour
Georgia's wine country runs through Dahlonega and into Habersham County. Tasting rooms, vineyard views, and a historic gold-rush town square. A good pairing for a non-golf afternoon.
